Restore precise control over your cabin illumination with the AMR2745 interior light dimmer rheostat switch engineered for the 1994–2004 Land Rover Discovery. This rotary control replaces the failed factory component that regulates brake-tap lighting, dashboard backlighting, and dome lamp intensity, returning reliable brightness adjustment to your vehicle’s cabin electronics.

Direct Fit Compatibility

Fabricated to match original equipment housing dimensions and terminal positioning, this dimmer unit slots directly into the stock instrument panel mounting location. The AMR2745 identifier corresponds to the component designation used on Discovery models produced between 1994 and 2004. Confirm the visible faceplate shape and rear wiring harness connector before installation to guarantee a seamless swap on your particular trim level.

Condition & Operational Performance

This unit has been sourced in lightly used, clean condition and retains its original potentiometer mechanism. The internal resistor track responds to full rotational input, delivering even voltage changes as the dial moves from minimum to maximum illumination settings. External contacts and retention clips show no cracks, deformation, or excessive oxidation.

Installation Guidelines

Disconnect the battery negative terminal before removing console trim to prevent electrical shorts
Unfasten the mounting hardware and detach the multi-pin wiring connector from the rear of the module
Transfer any retaining clips or grounding straps to the replacement unit before seating
Cycle the dial through all positions to verify stable resistance output and consistent light leveling

Failing dimmer assemblies commonly cause flickering gauges, completely dark footwells, or intermittent illumination warnings. This pre-owned rheostat provides a straightforward repair route for owners restoring functional cabin lighting without replacing the entire instrument cluster harness.
