Restore factory-start authorization and key-fob communication to your 2002–2004 Volvo S80 or S60 with part number 8673073, a direct-fit OEM ignition immobilizer switch that returns proper engine-enable signaling when internal contacts degrade. Worn actuator stems, corroded pins, or weakened spring tension trigger starter refusal, persistent dash warning icons, and unwanted immobilizer gate-lock. Installing a genuine replacement re-establishes the transponder handshake between your keys and the Engine Control Module without introducing aftermarket adaptation errors or dealer-level programming requirements. The housing matches original dash geometries, retaining-tab positions, and three-wire harness connectors, allowing straightforward removal and bolt-for-bolt mounting.

This unit arrives in slightly used condition, having been decontaminated, mechanically cycled to verify consistent lever travel, and electrically tested to confirm stable contact closure across multiple activation cycles. Buying refurbished OEM hardware preserves the original voltage thresholds, tactile feedback, and crash-safety compliance while avoiding the premium markup of new inventory. Verify your current switch orientation and pin routing before installation, then proceed using standard socket and trim-removal tools. The component integrates directly into Volvo's immobilizer network and keeps the Body Control Module clear of related diagnostic trouble codes.

Exact OE designation 8673073 aligns with required contact resistance, actuation force, and pinout sequence
Verified slightly-used stock featuring clean terminals, intact sealing boots, and confirmed mechanical travel
Drop-in compatibility for 2002, 2003, and 2004 Volvo S80 and S60 sedan platforms
Maintains factory anti-theft logic and instrument-cluster display behavior without BCM fault logging
Eliminates recurring cranking delays, silent-immobilizer engagements, and intermittent key-recognition failures

Choose this OEM-verified switch when drivability depends on precise ignition timing, immobilizer synchronization, and durable electrical connections. Packaging secures sensitive components against transit static and moisture exposure.
